A high quality version of the EMI/Phantom Menace image used for LucasArts' EMI E3 page can now be seen in quite a few gaming mags, and I have to say it looks pretty dang cool. Click on the thumbnail for the full ad. (sorry about the not-so-straight scan :)

Here it is... probably the biggest feature on this site ever! An exclusive interview with CMI background artist... Bill Tiller! (Bill also did the art for this site, just in case you wondered) Not only will this interview give you lots of insight into how the CMI look was created, it will also show you concept art, (many thanks to LucasArts) a Competition and a special suprise at the end... Go see.

LucasArt's EMI page has had a new EMI trailer added to it. Quite nice.. but still not a patch on Jake's Unofficial Trailer in my opinion.

E3 Day 2
Posted by invisibelle @ 1:05 BST ( Comments 2 )
I didn't think there would be much Monkey Island news to give you guys from E3, but apparently I was wrong. We had the good fortune to sit around and chat with Sean and Mike, the Escape from Monkey Island project leaders, for far too long... probably an hour and a half. Besides being really hilarious, they're charming fellows and really nice, just like everyone else we met from LucasArts. They couldn't tell us what projects they're currently working on, but they assured us that original games are on the way, and even asked what we would want to see in a Monkey Island 5, suggesting a prequel. :)
Anywho, we talked to them for over an hour, like I said, so there's no possible way I could address everything we discussed today, but I thought it was worth a mention!

E3 Rules All
Posted by invisibelle @ 16:52 BST ( Comments 1 )
Sorry guys, not much Monkey Island news coming from E3... We did watch a bit of EMI for PS2, and it looks the same (surprise). The character animations are much smoother, and some of the graphics look better on the big screen (remember those awful savegame screens?). Sadly, they couldn't show us Murray Ball or Murray Invaders, but we did get bottles of Monkey Island Grog as souvenirs... which has to be one of the best ideas in the history of marketing. (The two girls --who will remain unnamed -- who actually tried to drink the grog thought it was bitter and poured it out :) Um... also Bill Tiller (CMI background artist) is a really nice guy. Thanks to... E3 for the news. (Love from Emma, Sarah, and Pete)

This is once again created by Huz so if you REALLY hate it you can complain to him and not me... you savvy? Please post your scores in the comments section... which I'm sure you will once I tell you I scored a pathetic 2/10.

LucasArts have a link up on their web site to an interview with Mike Stemmle,Sean Clark and also the producer of EMI - Shara Miller. The interview was carried about by LAtimes.com, where Sean and Mike discuss the upcoming EMI for the PS2. Here's a snippet...

Q: What does a PlayStation 2 port bring to the table for a PC franchise?
Clark: It brings "Monkey Island" to a special environment, where you sit in front of a TV with friends and family as opposed to behind a lonely computer screen.

LucasArts.com has got a new poll! This time they're asking: "Which of the following female LucasArts game characters is your favorite?"

Elaine Marley is 2nd on the list right now... Go and vote for her! We wouldn't let anyone else be the First Lady of LucasArts, do we?
