Some Quality Fan Art
Posted by Huz @ 11:18 BST ( Comments 0 )
Erik van Beekum's work has been featured on the SCUMM Bar before, but it's of such a high quality that when he got in contact, I had to mention it once again. His site contains some high-quality fan art inspired by Monkey Island, some of it seen before (as with the incredible Grim Fandango/Puerto Pollo crossover art, below), and some of it new. Go now!

Fan Work

And if his work has whet your appetite for fan creations, you might like to head over to the Fan Creations section at the World of Monkey Island. If anybody knows of any more comprehensive fan-work sites related to LucasArts, please contact me. Thanks!

I might work on resurrecting the SCUMM Bar's own fan work section soon, on behalf of its lazy owner; then again, perhaps not. We'll see. :)

True Love

Adam Crolla, aka Rocketeer, has put together a fun little quiz game to test your knowledge of all three Monkey Island games. The Love of Monkey Island is a small Windows game - unzip it, install it, and check how much of a REAL fan you are! Download it here and enjoy! I won't bother telling you how I fared. ;)

Quaking Mojo
Posted by Huz @ 15:57 BST ( Comments 0 )
DJG of Mixnmojo fame has put together a multiplayer deathmatch map of the International House of Mojo for Quake 1, as it is seen in a screenshot of MI4. DJG admits that it might not turn out to be particularly accurate, as the facade of the building is based solely on this one screenshot, but I can attest that the map is great fun to play on. You can download it here, courtesy of 3D Downloads.

The Quake map...
...and the original.

Farewell SCUMMrev
Posted by Pedgey @ 17:19 BST ( Comments 3 )
SCUMMrev (a fantastic program for pulling SCUMM and related engine games to bits) has officially been dropped by its creator Lysergic.
He left with the following comment:

"Due to private life taking over most of my time, I have neither the time nor the desire to keep on making SCUMM Revisited."

I`m sure we will all miss playing with the SCUMM games, but "C`est la vie..." as they say, and good luck to Lysergic with all he does here after.

Ask the Team
Posted by Huz @ 21:24 BST ( Comments 2 )
LucasArts look set to fulfill their promise of more interaction between gamers and the company, as the latest addition to LucasArts.com appears: Ask The Team. This new section allows you to get in contact with the development team of LucasArts' current upcoming titles and submit your questions.

For more information, visit the new 'Ask The Team' section at the site. To submit a question, you need to be a registered member, which also entitles you to other benefits.

Also on the Monkey Island 4 page is news of an article describing EMI as one of the games that will save PC gaming. The front page of the site also carries the poll: "Which game has your favorite original music?" This will undoubtedly be a difficult choice, so go ahead and vote.

This is probably the first major update the SCUMM Bar has had in ages. You may have noticed this page lagging behind with updates... well no longer! Please welcome 4 new Staff members (in fact, the first staff apart from me) who will help with updates... Emma, Huz, Narrative and Pedgey! Thanks to all of them for their help! Thanks to the guys at http://www.mixnmojo.com for their help too.

You may also notice a few new features... there is a comments section and an option to be notified by email when news is posted at the SCUMM bar. Thanks and Enjoy!

Please note... we are currently not looking for any more updaters, so please don't ask.
